Sometimes you don't want a menu of options — you want one clear answer. For a dining room, that answer sets the mood before the meal and stays out of the way during it, because fragrance frames the food and never competes with it. Here is the single thing I'd tell you to buy, by home type.

My honest caveat, as ever: no single product does the first job for you. Clear cooking smells at source with your extractor and a little airflow before you scent anything — fragrance crowns clean, aired space and never masks a room that still smells of the meal being cooked. And a portion of whatever you buy goes towards girl-child education through Nanhi Kali, which I'm quietly proud of.
