People expect me to say "reapply every few hours", and I never do. With a real attar the honest answer is usually once: a single dab in the middle of the day, or right before the evening. Let me explain the routine and the one product I would carry for it.

Quick answer
Usually once a day is enough, one small dab mid-day or just before the evening. A good attar holds 8 to 10 hours, so you are refreshing it, not rescuing it. Carry SOSA Adaa 3ml at ₹379 for that top-up.
The pick
"How many times a day should I reapply my attar?"

Typically once, a single dab of Adaa (₹379 for the 3ml roll-on) around mid-day or before an evening plan. Only a very long day needs a second small top-up.

Why once is usually enough

An attar is concentrated oil with no alcohol, so it does not flash off your skin the way a spray does. It bonds and releases slowly, which is why a good one realistically lasts 8 to 10 hours or more. That changes the whole question. You are not fighting a fragrance that keeps vanishing; you are simply giving it a small lift when it naturally softens.

There is also something worth knowing about your own nose: it stops noticing a scent you have been wearing for hours long before other people do. This is called olfactory adaptation. So the moment you think "it's gone" is often the moment it is still perfectly present to everyone around you. That is another reason not to over-apply.

₹379 / 3mlSOSA Adaa — Bergamot + Green Cardamom + Jasmine Sambac + White Musk. Clean, unisex, office-friendly. Also 6ml ₹669, 12ml ₹1,149.

The routine I actually recommend

Time What to do
Morning One or two dabs to pulse points, as normal
Early-to-late afternoon One dab when you notice it has quietened
Before an evening plan Optional single dab so you walk in fresh
Very long day (into late night) At most one more small top-up

That is it. For an ordinary work day, the afternoon dab alone is usually all you need. The "before evening" dab is a choice, not a rescue: it just feels nice to freshen up before dinner or drinks.

Use less than you think

The single biggest mistake with attar is using too much. It is oil, so one dab really is a dab, not a drench. More product does not make it last longer, it only makes it sit heavier and, briefly, louder. Roll a little onto clean inner wrists, press gently, and stop. And do not rub your wrists together hard: that heat burns off the bright top notes and shortens the wear.

Two things to carry

For men, or for anyone who wants a richer, more "expensive" evening character, carry Nawaab, our white royal oud attar, at ₹399 for 3ml. And if you would rather a top-up that can never leak, a 15g solid perfume tin like Sway at ₹459 is a flat, unbreakable balm you swipe on with a finger, the tidiest option for a bag.

₹399 / 3mlSOSA Nawaab — White Royal Oud + Mysore Sandalwood + Saffron. Richer, evening-leaning, men-friendly. Also 6ml ₹699, 12ml ₹1,199.

Founder note
When someone tells me they reapply their attar four or five times a day, I know two things: they are using a spray, or they are drowning a good oil in too much product. With a proper attar, one honest dab in the afternoon is the whole job. Trust it to work quietly.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I reapply attar during a long day?
For most people, once is enough: a single dab somewhere in the middle of the day or just before the evening. A good attar oil like SOSA Adaa holds 8 to 10 hours, so you are refreshing it, not rescuing it. Only a very long day, morning until late night, might need a second small top-up.
How much attar should I use each time I reapply?
One dab. Roll it lightly onto the inner wrists and, if you want, a touch on the neck. Attar is concentrated oil, so a little goes a long way; more does not make it last longer, it just sits heavier.
What is the best time of day to reapply attar?
Reapply when you notice it has softened, which is usually early-to-late afternoon, or deliberately just before an evening plan so you walk in fresh. Reapplying to a clean pulse point works best.
Which SOSA attar is best to carry for reapplying through the day?
Adaa at ₹379 for 3ml. It is clean, unisex and office-friendly, and the 3ml roll-on is made to live in a bag. Men who want something richer can carry Nawaab 3ml at ₹399 instead.
Does reapplying attar often mean it is low quality?
No. Even a long-lasting oil naturally quietens over a full day as your skin warms and you move around, and your own nose stops noticing it long before others do. A single refresh is normal and sensible, not a sign of a weak fragrance.
