Running cost splits into a line you can calculate to the decimal and a line you cannot calculate honestly without knowing your settings. This page does the first one properly, shows the method for the second, and says plainly why the rupee figure belongs on a consultation.
Quick answers — read this first
How much does it cost to run multiple scent machines every month? Two lines. Electricity is small and exact: a SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) runs on DC 12V/1A at 5W, so ten hours a day is 1.5 units a month per machine, and four machines come to about 6 units a month. Fragrance is the real line and follows the 400ml tank and its up-to-75-day interval at typical use. The rupee total depends on your fragrance, intensity and hours, so it is confirmed on a consultation rather than quoted from a page.
How much electricity does a commercial scent machine use? Very little. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated at 5W on a DC 12V/1A supply. Running ten hours a day that is 50 watt-hours a day, 1.5 kWh a month; even running continuously it is about 3.6 kWh a month. Across four machines on a ten-hour schedule you are looking at roughly 6 units a month in total.
Are there other running costs besides fragrance and electricity? Not meaningfully. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is waterless with a refillable 400ml tank, so there is no water use, no scale and no wick or cartridge consumable between fills. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) refills an 800ml reservoir on the same principle. Your recurring spend is essentially fragrance.
The short answer
Short answer: electricity is negligible and calculable - a SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) draws 5W, so ten hours a day is 1.5 units a month per machine and about 6 units for four - while fragrance is the line that matters and follows the 400ml tank and its up-to-75-day interval; the rupee total for your settings is confirmed on a consultation.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) at 5W with a refillable 400ml tank, and the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) with an 800ml reservoir where a zone sits on HVAC.
Next step: send the machine count, intensity and daily hours and we will return a costed monthly plan rather than an average - book a free scenting plan.
Electricity is small enough to calculate exactly and then forget. Fragrance is the line that actually moves, and it moves with settings we have not agreed yet, which is why the rupee figure belongs on a consultation.
What does it actually cost to run several scent machines every month?
Three lines, and only two of them are real. Electricity first, because it is the one number we can settle here completely. A SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) runs on DC 12V/1A and draws 5W. Five watts for ten hours is 50 watt-hours a day, which is 1.5 units a month per machine. Four machines on a ten-hour schedule is about 6 units a month in total, and even running continuously each machine only reaches about 3.6 units a month. At any Indian commercial tariff that is a rounding error against the lighting in the same room, and once you have done the sum you can stop thinking about it. Fragrance second, and this is the line that genuinely moves. The Vaayu tank is 400ml and a fill lasts up to about 75 days at typical use, which is roughly 4.9 fills and 1.9 litres a year per machine, or about 160ml a month; run a higher intensity or longer hours and that interval shortens, so a four-machine site plans somewhere between about 640ml and 975ml a month. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) holds 800ml for a zone up to 3,000m³ and gets its own line. Maintenance third, and it is close to nothing: these machines are waterless, so there is no water use, no scale, no damp and no wick or cartridge to replace between fills - the tank simply gets refilled. What we will not do is print a rupees-per-month total. It would have to assume your fragrance, your intensity and your hours, and any figure that assumes all three is marketing rather than budgeting. Send those three inputs and a free scenting plan will cost it properly, with the assumptions written beside the numbers.
Electricity: 5W per Vaayu, 1.5 units a month at ten hours a day, about 6 units for four machines. Fragrance: 400ml per fill, up to about 75 days. The rupee total is costed on a consultation.
The SOSA Vaayu draws 5W on DC 12V/1A and holds a refillable 400ml tank lasting up to about 75 days at typical use. Those two numbers are the whole running cost: a unit and a half of electricity a month, and fragrance on a predictable cycle.
Running cost comes off two product pages: the wattage and tank size on the Vaayu, and the reservoir on the Angaan. Both images link straight through so the figures can be verified.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, running on DC 12V/1A at 5W. Ten hours a day is 1.5 units of electricity a month. The 400ml tank lasts up to about 75 days at typical use, which sets the fragrance cycle.
Another 5W, another 400ml tank, and no additional complexity if both machines run the same fragrance on the same schedule. Four machines together still come to roughly six units of electricity a month.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, about 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and under 42dB running. Its consumption is set on a consultation from your run schedule.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), DC 12V/1A at 5W, 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, auto-stop and key-lock. Made in India.
Take the lines in order of size, which is the opposite of the order people worry about them: fragrance is the cost, electricity is arithmetic, and maintenance is nearly nothing.
1
Electricity - settle it and move on
5W, ten hours a day, 1.5 units a month per machine
The Vaayu is a DC 12V/1A device drawing 5W. Multiply: 5 watts times 10 hours is 50 watt-hours a day, times 30 days is 1,500 watt-hours, which is 1.5 units. Four machines is about 6 units a month. Run them around the clock and each one reaches only about 3.6 units. Whatever your commercial tariff is, multiply it by those numbers once and you will never raise the subject again.
Tip: watts times hours times days, divided by 1000, gives units. For a Vaayu that is 1.5 a month at ten hours a day.
The Vaayu runs at 5W on DC 12V/1A - the smallest line in any commercial scenting budget.
Tank size and fill interval, multiplied by machine count
400ml per Vaayu tank, up to about 75 days at typical use, is roughly 4.9 fills and 1.9 litres a year per machine. Four machines plan at about 640ml a month at that interval. Push the intensity up or run fourteen hours instead of eight and the interval shortens: at 50 days per fill the same four machines want closer to 975ml a month. Budget the band, then narrow it with a quarter of real refill dates.
Adjustable intensity and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers on the Vaayu are the two controls that move this line.
There is no water in either machine, so nothing has to be descaled, dried out or watched for damp, and nothing settles on finishes. The tank is refillable rather than a sealed cartridge, so between fills there is no consumable to buy. Keep the unit somewhere reachable, wipe it when the room is cleaned, and put the refill dates on the same sheet as the zone list.
Tip: one recurring line item: fragrance.
The Angaan refills an 800ml reservoir on the same waterless principle, with a metal body built for plant rooms and ceilings.
Businesses brace for the electricity bill and are surprised by the fragrance line. It is the other way round: five watts is nothing, and the oil is the only number worth negotiating with your own settings.
The cheapest way to lower a running cost is one intensity step down, not one machine less.
The 5W machine behind the maths: SOSA Vaayu runs on DC 12V/1A at 5W with a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days at typical use, ₹11,999.
What we can price here, and what belongs on a consultation
Here is what this page can price honestly and what it deliberately will not. The table is the arithmetic; the rupee total is a conversation with your settings in it.

Any supplier can give you a monthly figure in one line. Ask which intensity and how many hours it assumes, and watch how quickly the figure becomes a range.

Why there is no third line
Waterless means no water, no scale, no damp and no consumable but fragrance
Two machines, two running-cost profiles. The Vaayu draws 5W and refills a 400ml tank on an up-to-75-day cycle at typical use; the Angaan holds 800ml for a much larger zone and is costed from your run schedule. Both are waterless, so there is no water, no scale and no consumable but fragrance, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
We have deliberately left one number off this page: rupees per month. It cannot be honest without your fragrance, intensity and hours, and a figure that quietly assumes all three is a sales device. The electricity arithmetic above is exact, the fragrance method is repeatable, and the costed version comes from a free scenting plan. Honest note - fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of them, SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel, and we make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision.

A note from Sonal
When a business asks what a scenting programme costs to run, they are usually bracing for a surprise on the electricity bill. There isn't one. The machine draws five watts, which is less than the smallest lamp in the same room, and the arithmetic takes ten seconds: five watts, ten hours, thirty days, one and a half units a month. Four machines, six units. That line can be closed and never reopened.
The line that deserves attention is fragrance. A Vaayu tank is 400ml and lasts up to about 75 days at typical use, so a four-machine site is planning somewhere around 640ml a month at that interval - and closer to 975ml if you run harder or longer. That is a band, not a number, and the honest thing is to say so. An Angaan holds 800ml for a far larger zone and is costed from its own schedule.
What I will not do is quote a monthly rupee figure on a page that has never seen your building. It would assume a fragrance, an intensity and a set of hours nobody has agreed to. Send me those three things and I will cost it with the assumptions written beside the numbers. And the usual honest note: fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning rather than instead of them, it cannot cover paint, adhesive or damp, and I make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How much electricity do multiple scent machines use each month?
Very little. A SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 runs on DC 12V at 1A and draws 5 watts. Ten hours a day is 50 watt-hours a day and 1.5 units a month per machine, so four machines come to about 6 units a month. Even running continuously, one machine reaches only about 3.6 units a month.
What is the biggest monthly cost of running scent machines?
Fragrance, not power. The Vaayu holds a 400ml tank that lasts up to about 75 days at typical use, which is roughly 1.9 litres a year per machine, and that interval shortens if you raise the intensity or extend daily run hours. Machine count multiplied by tank size multiplied by fills per year gives your volume.
Are there hidden consumables or maintenance costs?
No wicks, no cartridges and no water. Both machines are waterless with refillable tanks, so there is no scale, no damp and nothing to replace between fills. Practically speaking, fragrance is the only recurring line, and the machines simply get refilled on their cycle.
Why will you not give a monthly cost in rupees?
Because it would depend on the fragrance you choose, the intensity you set and the hours you run, and no honest figure exists before those are known. We would rather show the method here and cost the actual plan on a consultation, with the assumptions written next to the numbers so you can challenge them.
What is the cheapest way to lower running cost?
One intensity step down, not one machine fewer. A lower setting stretches the fill interval and usually reads better in the room, whereas removing a machine from a zone that needs it leaves the space uneven and tempts everyone to turn the remaining units up, which costs more.
