So is gel or liquid better for an Indian car?
For most Indian drivers, a liquid is the better buy - but for a specific reason. A gel works by leaving an open surface exposed to air; in a parked cabin that hits 60 to 70 degrees, that surface evaporates fast, so the gel smells loud for a week then thin for three. A liquid spray stays sealed until you press it, so heat cannot drain it between uses - you get months from a 10ml bottle and you decide the strength every drive. How gel car perfume actually works
A gel freshener is fragrance suspended in a solid or semi-solid base, sitting in an open cup or pierced lid. It scents the air by evaporating from its exposed surface - which means the moment it goes into a hot cabin, that surface starts working overtime. This is why a fresh gel is loud in week one and faint by week three: you are smelling it burn through its supply.
What a gel really is
A passive evaporator. It has no off switch and no dose control - the cabin temperature sets the pace. In a Pune summer, a dashboard at 65 to 70 degrees drains it far faster than the label’s cool-room estimate. Many budget gels also carry their scent in cheap synthetics that turn sharp as they age.
Gels have one honest advantage: they are effortless. You drop the cup in and forget it. If your car lives in a basement parking and rarely bakes, a gel can be perfectly pleasant. I am not here to pretend otherwise - I just do not make one, because I could not make a gel hold its character through the heat we drive in.
Three things people get wrong about gel

How liquid car perfume works - and why I build it
A liquid keeps its fragrance sealed until you choose to release it. That single fact is why it survives the cabin. A spray stays locked in a 10ml bottle - heat cannot touch it between uses - and one press of the Vetiver spray or the Oud spray puts a strong, controllable burst into the air on demand.
