Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani. Adaa is not in it - that one is bought separately.
Alcohol-free by formulation
The attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist. The inspired line is an alcohol-based spray - a different thing, and we say so.
Made in India
Hand-blended in small batches. Cruelty-free and vegan.
Composed by a trained perfumer
Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained, composes the whole range.

Founder Diaries · Attar Gifting
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 11 min read Updated September 2026
There is a test that decides this question before any of the scents are described, and it is arithmetic rather than taste. Measure the spread inside the gift against the spread already on his shelf. If the gift is narrower than the shelf, it cannot add variety no matter how well composed it is - it can only add a bottle. That test is unkind to a great many fragrance sets, and it is unkind to this one, so I am going to run it in public and then tell you what is left.
Quick answers — read this first
Will a three-attar set give somebody with several dark woody perfumes real variety? No. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are built on oudh, with sandalwood, saffron and rose around it. Three oudh-based evening scents handed to somebody whose shelf is already several dark woody bottles reproduces his problem in a smaller format. The set is ₹1,055 and it is genuinely good, but not for this.

Which SOSA attar is furthest from a dark woody collection? Adaa, by a wide margin - bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and white musk. It is ₹379 at 3ML, ₹669 at 6ML and ₹1,149 at 12ML. It is the only scent in the range that would not sit comfortably beside the bottles he already owns, which for this brief is the entire point.

Does SOSA make a dry woods, smoky or spice attar? No. There are four attars and no dry-woods scent, no smoky scent and no standalone spice scent among them. Three of the four are oud-adjacent. A man with a shelf of dark woody bottles has already covered more of this territory than the range does, and that is the honest shape of the problem.
The short answer
Short answer: Measure the spread inside the gift against the spread already on his shelf - the set is three oudh-based evening scents, which is narrower than what he owns, so it cannot add variety by construction.
The pick: Adaa, the one bottle his collection does not already contain - ₹379 at 3ML, ₹669 at 6ML, ₹1,149 at 12ML. Never the fixed set, which is the register his shelf is already full of.
Honest note: the set is fixed and all three scents sit in one register, so it is depth rather than contrast. Adaa, the one bright scent, is not in it.
The trio, and the alternative - at a glanceThe trio is one register: rose, oud, sandalwood. Three eveningsFixed set ₹1,055 · Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani · Adaa not includedWant contrast? Three chosen 3ML from ₹1,153 - three boxesAlcohol-free oil · worn at the wrist
SOSA's three-attar set is a fixed pairing of Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at Rs 1,055 for three 3ML bottles. All three sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals, built for evenings. If what you want is contrast rather than depth, the route is three 3ML singles chosen yourself, from Rs 1,153, which is the only way to include Adaa, the one bright scent in the range. Those arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set.
Straight answer
Would three contrasting attars give a dark woods wearer genuine variety?
They would, if three contrasting attars existed. Here they do not, and I would rather say that than sell you a set that recreates his problem.

Run the spread test. His shelf holds several dark woody bottles that he himself experiences as doing one job. Now measure the gift. Ameeri is Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh. Nawaab is white royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. Mastani is night-blooming jasmine, damask rose and oudh. Three scents built on the same material, made for the same time of day. The distance between them is smaller than the distance between the bottles he already owns. A gift narrower than the shelf cannot widen the shelf.

The catalogue fact behind it. SOSA makes no dry-woods attar, no smoky attar and no standalone spice attar. There are four attars and three of them are oud-adjacent. This is a house with a point of view, not a map of the woody world, and a man with several dark woody bottles has already walked further across that world than the range does.

What is worth buying. One bottle: Adaa at ₹379 for 3ML, ₹669 at 6ML, ₹1,149 at 12ML. Bergamot and green cardamom over jasmine sambac and white musk. It is the only thing here that his collection does not already answer, and because it is the only one, buying it in a size he can actually live with beats buying three in a size he cannot.

And the limit, stated once. If what you want is a genuine spread across families - something smoky, something green, something powdery - that is a wider range than this one, and a well-chosen single from a house that makes those things will serve him better than three from a house that does not. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: measure the spread inside the box against the spread already on the shelf, and when the box is narrower, it is a bottle rather than variety - so buy the single scent his collection does not contain.
The fixed set is the wrong shape for this. Choose three 3ML singles yourself - any three of the four, ₹1,153 to ₹1,173 - which is the only route that includes Adaa, the one bright scent in the range. It costs about a hundred rupees more than the set, and it arrives as three boxes rather than one.
from ₹1,153

Measuring the gift against the shelf it is joining

Three things make this brief harder than it looks, and only the last of them is about which bottle you pick.

1
The spread test
A gift narrower than the shelf adds a bottle, not variety
This is the arithmetic that settles it. Variety is a property of the distance between things, so a set can only supply variety it internally contains. Three scents sharing oudh, sandalwood and an evening brief have a small internal distance - smaller, on his own account, than the distance between the dark woody bottles he owns and finds interchangeable. That is why the fixed set, which is a strong gift for somebody who does not yet live in this register, is the wrong gift for somebody who already does.
Tip: Variety is distance. A box with less distance inside it than the shelf cannot add any.
2
What the catalogue does not hold
No dry woods, no smoke, no spice on its own
Worth writing down flatly. Four attars: Adaa, Ameeri, Mastani, Nawaab. Three of the four are oud-adjacent. There is no cedar or vetiver scent, nothing built around smoke or leather, and no scent whose subject is spice. Those are the three directions a dark woods wearer most often has not explored, and this house does not make any of them. Selling him a fourth oud because oud is what we have is exactly the branding problem you said you wanted to avoid.
3
One bottle, properly sized
When only one thing is new, buy it in a size he can use
Once the spread test has removed the set, the question stops being how many and becomes how much. He does not need three small bottles to discover one new direction. He needs the one bottle that is genuinely new in a size that survives being tried, disliked for a week, and tried again. Adaa at 6ML is ₹669, and at 12ML it is ₹1,149 - which is roughly what the set costs and buys him a single thing he does not own rather than three he effectively does.
Tip: When exactly one thing is new, spend the budget on size rather than on count.
The SOSA principle
Three bottles of the same idea is not variety. It is his problem, in a smaller format.
The set is a good gift for somebody who does not yet own this register. For a man who owns several dark woody bottles and finds them interchangeable, it is the least useful thing in the catalogue.

Where the variety actually is, and where it is not

Start by writing down what is already on the shelf, then buy only from what is left over.

The SOSA attar edit
What to buy for a collection of dark woody bottles
Option Who it suits, and what it costs
The one genuinely new thing here Adaa, ₹379 at 3ML, ₹669 at 6ML, ₹1,149 at 12ML. Bergamot and green cardamom. Nothing on his shelf does this.
You want the format itself to be the novelty Any single attar at 6ML, ₹669 to ₹699. Oil at the wrist behaves differently from a spray even when the notes are familiar.
The fixed three-attar set Skip it here. Three oudh-based evening scents, which is the register his shelf is already crowded with. ₹1,055, and better spent elsewhere.
You wanted smoke, dry cedar or a spice scent Not made here. A single well-chosen bottle from a house that composes those will serve him better than three from one that does not.

If you want the version of this argument written for somebody whose woody bottles have only just started blurring together, Woody bottles that smell alike takes the earlier stage. If you want the full account of what real variety looks like for a committed woods wearer, The woods guide is the longer guide. Adaa is where this particular question ends up.

Tell us what they already wear
Send us the bottle they have worn for years, or just how they describe it - bright, heavy, sweet, clean. If the fixed set is the wrong register for that person, we will say so and tell you which three to pick instead.
Gift enquiry
A set can only give away the variety it contains. This one contains one evening, told three times.

The SOSA attar edit

Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist, hand-blended in small batches in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the edit by what you actually know about the person's taste, which is what decides whether a fixed set or three chosen bottles is the right answer.

The SOSA attar edit
Five answers by what you actually know about their taste - from ₹1,055 to ₹1,859
Option Best for What it is, honestly From
The three-attar set, 3ML x 3 They already wear rose, oud or big florals Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani - one register, three evenings. Fixed: Adaa is not in it ₹1,055
Three chosen 3ML singles You want contrast, not depth Any three of the four, chosen by you. The only route that includes Adaa. Three boxes, not one set ₹1,153
One 12ML of a scent you are sure of You know exactly what they wear A size they finish rather than sample, when guessing is not required ₹1,149
The three-attar set, 6ML x 3 The same three, in a size that lasts Where the trio is right and 3ML would run out too quickly ₹1,859
Solid perfume tin 15g When a roll-on is not right Solid balm in a metal tin - nothing to spill, nothing to leak in a bag ₹500

Four honest notes. The three-attar set is fixed - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, in one size tier at a time. Adaa, the bergamot and cardamom one, is not in it, so if the brighter style is what the person wears, that means buying Adaa separately. All three trio scents sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals - so the set is depth rather than contrast; if contrast is the point, choose three 3ML singles yourself and know that they arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set, because there is no build-your-own set on the store. SOSA's attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist; the designer-inspired line is an alcohol-based spray and a different product entirely, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any fragrance house it names. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

The hardest fragrance gift is not the one where you know nothing. It is the one where you know just enough. You can name the bottle they have worn for six years. You also know that buying it again is not a gift, it is a refill - and that buying something wildly different is a coin toss with your money on it.

So people reach for a set, and most fragrance sets quietly mislead. They are sold as exploration when they are really one house's single idea, broken into three bottles. I would rather tell you what ours actually is. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are three evenings, not three directions. Rose, oud, sandalwood, saffron, night jasmine. If the person you are buying for already lives in that register, the set is genuinely good and the discount is real. If they wear something bright and fresh, it is the wrong set, and no amount of my writing changes that.

The answer in that case is not a different set. It is three bottles you pick yourself - and yes, that costs about a hundred rupees more than the fixed three, and yes, they arrive in three boxes rather than one. I would rather you knew both of those things before you ordered than after. Adaa is the only bright one we make, and it is not in the set. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.

Frequently asked questions

Is the three-attar set a good gift for a man who already owns several woody perfumes?
Generally not, and particularly not when he has told you those bottles already feel interchangeable. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are all built on oudh with sandalwood and saffron, and all three are evening scents. Handing them to somebody whose complaint is that his fragrances occupy one role gives him three more bottles in that same role.
Which single SOSA attar would be furthest from what he owns?
Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and white musk. Rs 379 at 3ML, Rs 669 at 6ML, Rs 1,149 at 12ML. It is the only bright composition in the range and the only one that would not slot quietly in beside a shelf of dark woody bottles.
Does SOSA make a smoky, leathery or dry cedar attar?
No. There are four attars in total and none of them is built on smoke, leather, cedar or vetiver, and none is a spice scent on its own. Three of the four are oud-adjacent. If those are the directions you were hoping to open up, they are real categories and this range does not cover them.
Would buying three singles chosen individually be any better?
Slightly, because it lets Adaa into the gift, but be clear about what you are buying. Three self-chosen 3ML bottles cost Rs 1,153 to Rs 1,173, which is about a hundred rupees more than the fixed set, and they arrive as three separate boxes rather than one gift set. For this recipient it would be Adaa plus two scents that sit near the ones he already owns.
Is one bottle enough of a birthday present?
A 12ML at Rs 1,149 to Rs 1,199 is a full-sized gift by any reasonable measure, and it is a considerably better one here than three small bottles of a register he is already tired of. The generosity of a fragrance gift is not measured in bottle count - it is measured in how often the thing gets reached for.

SOSA does not sort fragrance by the gender of the wearer - every scent is recommended here on what a person has said they like.

SOSA attars, specified: alcohol-free concentrated fragrance oil in a roll-on bottle, applied at the wrist rather than sprayed. Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab share oudh, sandalwood and rose materials and sit in one register; Adaa is the outlier.
