Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani. Adaa is not in it - that one is bought separately.
Alcohol-free by formulation
The attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist. The inspired line is an alcohol-based spray - a different thing, and we say so.
Made in India
Hand-blended in small batches. Cruelty-free and vegan.
Composed by a trained perfumer
Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained, composes the whole range.
A portion funds girl-child education
Part of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
We will tell you not to buy
Four attars in two registers is a house point of view, not a discovery kit. Where that is the wrong answer, these guides say so.

Founder Diaries · Attar Gifting

My sister loves sweet vanilla fragrances but recently said she wants something different for work because her usual perfumes feel too dessert-like in professional settings - could a trio let her retain one comforting scent while exploring cleaner or woodier directions?

By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 11 min read Updated September 2026
Every other fragrance purchase in the world is judged by the person wearing it. An office scent is not. It is judged by somebody who did not choose it, cannot move away from it and will smell it for eight hours whether or not they ever say so. That single fact changes the criteria more than any note list does, and once you apply it the shopping gets dramatically easier - because most of the candidates disqualify themselves without you having to have an opinion about them.
Quick answers — read this first
Can a fragrance set cover both a sweet home scent and a cleaner work scent? Not this one, for a simple catalogue reason: SOSA makes no sweet attar and no vanilla attar. There are four attars and none of them is a gourmand. So the comforting sweet half of that plan is already solved by the bottle she owns, and the gift only has to supply the other half.

What should you buy for somebody who wants a cleaner scent for the office? Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and white musk. ₹379 at 3ML, ₹669 at 6ML. It is the only bright, low-sugar composition in the attar range, and being an oil worn at the wrist it stays close to the person rather than filling the room.

Why does a vanilla perfume feel wrong at work when it feels right at home? Because sweetness is the most legible thing a fragrance can do. It reads instantly, it reads as itself, and it carries. In a living room that is comfort; across a desk it is a statement nobody asked to hear. The fix is not a smaller spray of the same scent - it is a composition with no sugar in it at all.
The short answer
Short answer: An office scent is the only fragrance judged by somebody who did not choose it, so buy for the desk next to hers - no sugar, no resin, nothing that carries - and let her keep the vanilla for home.
The pick: Adaa at ₹379 for 3ML or ₹669 for 6ML - bergamot and green cardamom, no sweetness in it, and worn as oil at the wrist rather than sprayed.
Honest note: the set is fixed and all three scents sit in one register, so it is depth rather than contrast. Adaa, the one bright scent, is not in it.
The trio, and the alternative - at a glanceThe trio is one register: rose, oud, sandalwood. Three eveningsFixed set ₹1,055 · Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani · Adaa not includedWant contrast? Three chosen 3ML from ₹1,153 - three boxesAlcohol-free oil · worn at the wrist
SOSA's three-attar set is a fixed pairing of Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at Rs 1,055 for three 3ML bottles. All three sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals, built for evenings. If what you want is contrast rather than depth, the route is three 3ML singles chosen yourself, from Rs 1,153, which is the only way to include Adaa, the one bright scent in the range. Those arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set.
Straight answer
Can one gift cover both a comforting sweet scent and a cleaner one for the office?
It can, but only because half of it is already bought. She owns the sweet one.

The catalogue fact that reorganises the whole question. SOSA makes no sweet attar and no vanilla attar. There are four attars and not one of them is a gourmand. So the plan of keeping one comforting scent and adding cleaner ones cannot be fulfilled inside a single set here - and it does not need to be, because the comforting scent is the bottle already on her dressing table. That is the half you are not paying for.

Which leaves one job, and one honest answer. Adaa at ₹379 for 3ML or ₹669 for 6ML. Bergamot and green cardamom over jasmine sambac and white musk. It is the one bright composition in the range, there is no sugar anywhere in it, and it is not part of the fixed set - it is bought on its own, which for this brief is a feature rather than a complication.

Now apply the test that actually matters. Ask what the person at the next desk experiences. A fragrance for work has to pass somebody who did not choose it, so two properties do the deciding: what it smells of, and how far it goes. Adaa answers the first by having no sweetness in it at all. The oil format answers the second - an attar is applied at the wrist rather than sprayed into the air around her, so it sits close and behaves accordingly. Both of those are reasons, not preferences, which is why they survive being handed to somebody else's nose.

What about the woodier direction she mentioned? Real, but not an office answer. Ameeri at ₹385 is rose with Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron, and it is a lovely evening scent that will not be quiet in a meeting room. Buy it as a second bottle if you want to, and label it as such. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: an office fragrance is judged by the person at the next desk, so buy for them - no sugar, nothing resinous, worn as oil at the wrist - and let her keep the vanilla at home, because nothing here replaces it.
The fixed set is the wrong shape for this. Choose three 3ML singles yourself - any three of the four, ₹1,153 to ₹1,173 - which is the only route that includes Adaa, the one bright scent in the range. It costs about a hundred rupees more than the set, and it arrives as three boxes rather than one.
from ₹1,153

Buying for the person sitting nearest to her

Three things settle this, and the first one is a fact about the catalogue rather than a matter of taste.

1
The half already owned
Nothing here is sweet, and that is fine
The four attars are Adaa, Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab, and not one of them is a gourmand or contains vanilla as a subject. So there is no version of this gift in which a sweet comforting scent comes in the box. She already has that bottle, she chose it herself, and she is not asking to replace it. What she described was a gap on weekday mornings, and a gap is a much cheaper thing to fill than a wardrobe.
Tip: She is not missing a sweet perfume. She owns one, and she likes it.
2
The desk-neighbour test
The only scent judged by somebody who did not choose it
Run every candidate past the person who sits closest to her for eight hours. That person did not pick the fragrance, cannot step outside it and will almost certainly never mention it. Which means the office criterion is not what she enjoys most, it is what nobody has to have an opinion about. Sugar fails that test because sweetness is the most legible thing in perfumery - it reads instantly and it carries. Bergamot, green cardamom and white musk pass it, which is the entire reason Adaa is the answer here rather than a lighter spray of what she already wears.
3
Format as volume control
Oil at the wrist changes how far it travels
Worth separating from the note question, because the two get muddled constantly. A spray disperses fragrance into the air around a person; an attar is placed on skin at the wrist and stays close to it. That difference is about reach, not about strength - the oil is concentrated. For an office it happens to be exactly the right difference, because the complaint about dessert-like perfume in professional settings is usually as much about how much of it arrives at the next desk as about what it smells of.
Tip: Change what it smells of and how far it goes. Those are two different levers.
The SOSA principle
An office fragrance is the only one chosen by one person and judged by another.
So buy for the desk next to hers. Nothing sugary, nothing resinous, and a format that stays on skin rather than filling the air. That is a specification, and specifications are much easier to shop from than preferences.

What cleaner actually means when the room is an office

Separate the two halves of what she said, and notice that only one of them needs paying for.

The SOSA attar edit
What to buy when the vanilla stays and the office needs answering
Option Who it suits, and what it costs
The office answer Adaa, ₹379 at 3ML or ₹669 at 6ML. Bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac, white musk. No sweetness in it at all.
The comforting scent she keeps The bottle she already owns. Nothing in this range is sweet or vanillic, and pretending otherwise would be the easiest lie on this page.
The woodier direction, honestly placed Ameeri at ₹385. Rose over Indian sandalwood and saffron - a good evening scent, and not a quiet one for a meeting room.
The fixed three-attar set Wrong shape here. Three oudh-based evening attars at ₹1,055, none of them sweet and none of them a weekday morning scent.

If the split you are solving is sweet at night and restrained by day, Sweet at night, restrained by day works the same division from the other end. If you want the wider account of what this range can and cannot do for somebody who loves gourmands, The gourmand guide is the guide that says so plainly. Adaa is where this one lands.

The SOSA attar edit

Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist, hand-blended in small batches in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the edit by what you actually know about the person's taste, which is what decides whether a fixed set or three chosen bottles is the right answer.

The SOSA attar edit
Five answers by what you actually know about their taste - from ₹1,055 to ₹1,859
Option Best for What it is, honestly From
The three-attar set, 3ML x 3 They already wear rose, oud or big florals Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani - one register, three evenings. Fixed: Adaa is not in it ₹1,055
Three chosen 3ML singles You want contrast, not depth Any three of the four, chosen by you. The only route that includes Adaa. Three boxes, not one set ₹1,153
One 12ML of a scent you are sure of You know exactly what they wear A size they finish rather than sample, when guessing is not required ₹1,149
The three-attar set, 6ML x 3 The same three, in a size that lasts Where the trio is right and 3ML would run out too quickly ₹1,859
Solid perfume tin 15g When a roll-on is not right Solid balm in a metal tin - nothing to spill, nothing to leak in a bag ₹500

Four honest notes. The three-attar set is fixed - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, in one size tier at a time. Adaa, the bergamot and cardamom one, is not in it, so if the brighter style is what the person wears, that means buying Adaa separately. All three trio scents sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals - so the set is depth rather than contrast; if contrast is the point, choose three 3ML singles yourself and know that they arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set, because there is no build-your-own set on the store. SOSA's attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist; the designer-inspired line is an alcohol-based spray and a different product entirely, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any fragrance house it names. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

The hardest fragrance gift is not the one where you know nothing. It is the one where you know just enough. You can name the bottle they have worn for six years. You also know that buying it again is not a gift, it is a refill - and that buying something wildly different is a coin toss with your money on it.

So people reach for a set, and most fragrance sets quietly mislead. They are sold as exploration when they are really one house's single idea, broken into three bottles. I would rather tell you what ours actually is. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are three evenings, not three directions. Rose, oud, sandalwood, saffron, night jasmine. If the person you are buying for already lives in that register, the set is genuinely good and the discount is real. If they wear something bright and fresh, it is the wrong set, and no amount of my writing changes that.

The answer in that case is not a different set. It is three bottles you pick yourself - and yes, that costs about a hundred rupees more than the fixed three, and yes, they arrive in three boxes rather than one. I would rather you knew both of those things before you ordered than after. Adaa is the only bright one we make, and it is not in the set. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.

Frequently asked questions

Does SOSA make a vanilla or sweet attar she could keep for home?
No. There are four attars - Adaa, Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab - and none of them is a gourmand or built around vanilla. That is a genuine limit of a small range, and it means the comforting sweet scent in this plan has to be the bottle she already owns rather than something in the box.
Which SOSA attar is cleanest for an office?
Adaa, without much competition. Bergamot and green cardamom over jasmine sambac and white musk, at Rs 379 for 3ML and Rs 669 for 6ML. There is no sugar and no resin in it, and as an oil worn at the wrist it stays close to the person rather than dispersing into the room.
Would the three-attar set work for the office half of this?
No. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are oudh-based evening scents built for weddings, dinners and festivals. They are good at that. None of them is a Tuesday morning fragrance, and a set of three would leave her with three bottles for a slot she already has covered by going out at weekends.
Is an attar too strong for work, being concentrated oil?
Concentration and reach are different things. The oil is concentrated, which is why it goes on at the wrist in a small amount rather than being sprayed into the air. In practice that makes it a close-wearing fragrance, which is usually what somebody means when they say they want something more appropriate for a professional setting.
Should I buy her two bottles so she has a choice?
Only if the second one has a job. Adaa answers the office. If you want to add something for evenings, Ameeri at Rs 385 is the natural second bottle, and the two together come to about Rs 764 at 3ML. What I would avoid is buying a third simply to make the gift look like a set, because the third bottle has nowhere to go in her week.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the gifting advice applies to any brand. SOSA does not sort fragrance by the gender of the wearer - every scent is recommended here on what a person has said they like.

SOSA attars, specified: alcohol-free concentrated fragrance oil in a roll-on bottle, applied at the wrist rather than sprayed. Four scents: Adaa (bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac, white musk - the one bright scent in the range), Ameeri (Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh), Mastani (night-blooming jasmine, damask rose, oudh) and Nawaab (white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron). Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab share oudh, sandalwood and rose materials and sit in one register; Adaa is the outlier.

Prices verified 28 September 2026: 3ML ₹379 (Adaa) / ₹385 (Ameeri) / ₹389 (Mastani) / ₹399 (Nawaab); 6ML ₹669 / ₹679 / ₹685 / ₹699; 12ML ₹1,149 / ₹1,165 / ₹1,179 / ₹1,199.
