You can. Nothing stops you running one fragrance in every room. But there is a quiet reason it disappoints people: your nose stops noticing a smell that never changes. The home that feels alive is the one that shifts gently from room to room — and that takes a second fragrance, and honestly, a second diffuser.
Quick answers
Can I run one fragrance everywhere? Yes — but your nose adapts to a constant smell within minutes, so it fades into the background. A different scent in the next room keeps the home feeling fresh.
What works better? A
Sukoon (₹1,799) in each room with its own
Hotel Collection fragrance (₹299) — or, for one true signature everywhere, a scheduled
Vaayu.
The short answer
Short answer: yes, but it usually disappoints. One unchanging scent fades from your own awareness, and a single diffuser can't be in two rooms at once. A gentle change between rooms is more rewarding and no more effort.
The pick: two
Sukoon diffusers (₹1,799 each), one per room, each with a different
Hotel Collection fragrance. For a genuine single signature, a
Vaayu.
The direct answer
Yes you can — here's why most people end up not wanting to
-
Your nose switches it off. This is olfactory adaptation. When a smell is constant, the brain stops reporting it within minutes. The one fragrance you loved in the shop becomes, at home, no smell at all — until a guest walks in and notices what you no longer can.
-
A change re-engages you. Move into a room that smells different and your nose wakes up again. That small re-engagement is exactly what makes a home feel scented rather than simply not-unpleasant.
-
One diffuser can't be everywhere. A single Sukoon scents one room. To spread one fragrance across the flat you would carry it around all day — which no one keeps up.
-
The rooms want different things anyway. A living room suits a clean, sociable note; a bedroom suits something soft and warm. One fragrance has to compromise on both.
-
Two fragrances cost very little. At ₹299 each, a second Hotel Collection scent is the cheapest upgrade in the whole setup. The device is the only real cost, and a second Sukoon pays for itself in how finished the home feels.
The one case where one scent everywhere is right
There is a genuine exception, and I want to be fair to it. If you truly want a single signature through the whole home — the way a good hotel smells the same in the lobby, the lift and the corridor — then the answer is not several ultrasonic diffusers all running the same fragrance. It is one waterless machine sized for the space. The Vaayu nebulises scent through a large area on an app schedule, delivers it evenly, and adds no humidity, which matters for long daily runs in a coastal city. That is the right tool for "one smell, everywhere, always". Carrying a Sukoon from room to room is not.
SOSA Vaayu₹11,999
For most two-room and three-room homes, though, the Vaayu is more machine than you need, and the more enjoyable path is the cheaper one: a Sukoon in the bedroom and a Sukoon in the living room, each with its own fragrance. You get variety, each room suits its job, and nothing gets carried around. Start with one if the budget is tight and add the second within a month — that is what most people tell me they did.

The scent you can't smell any more isn't gone — you've just stopped noticing it. Change the room, and your nose comes back to life.

A caveat, as always: ultrasonic diffusers add a little humidity because they mist water, so run them in sessions rather than for hours, especially in a humid coastal flat during monsoon. If you find yourself wanting scent on all day across a large area, that is your sign to look at the waterless Vaayu instead of adding more ultrasonic machines. And fragrance only ever crowns clean, dry, aired air — it is never a fix for damp or stale rooms.
Frequently asked questions
Can you use the same ultrasonic diffuser fragrance in every room?
You can, and there is nothing wrong with it, but it is rarely the most rewarding choice. Your nose adapts to a constant smell within minutes, so one scent everywhere quietly disappears. A gentle change from room to room keeps the home feeling alive. If you do want one signature everywhere, a single waterless
Vaayu scheduled through an app does it more evenly than carrying one Sukoon around.
Why does one fragrance in every room stop being noticeable?
It is olfactory adaptation, or nose fatigue. When a smell is constant, the brain stops flagging it because nothing has changed, so within minutes you stop registering it even though it is still there. A different scent in the next room re-engages your nose, which is why a two-scent home feels fresher than a one-scent home using the same amount of fragrance.
Is it better to move one diffuser around or keep one in each room?
Keeping one in each room is far more reliable. A single
Sukoon can only scent the room it is in, and moving it means emptying, refilling and carrying it several times a day, which almost nobody sustains. Two Sukoons at ₹1,799 each keep both rooms scented with no daily effort.
When does one fragrance everywhere actually make sense?
When you genuinely want a single signature across a whole home, delivered evenly and on a schedule, a waterless
Vaayu covering a large area through its app is the better tool than several ultrasonic diffusers running the same scent. It also adds no humidity, which suits long runs in humid cities. For most two-room homes, two fragrances are more interesting and no more effort.
Will different fragrances in each room clash?
Not if you keep each low and choose them thoughtfully. In an open-plan flat, pick two scents that share a broad family or a clean anchor note so the change at the doorway feels gentle. Run each in short sessions. A little overlap where two rooms meet is normal and usually pleasant.
