A protocol is a document, not an attitude, and this one has six entries. Five of them cost nothing. The sixth is a device, and the most important paragraph in the whole thing is the one that lists what SOSA does not publish, because a protocol that quietly invents a figure is a protocol somebody will follow for a year.
Quick answers — read this first
What does a repeatable fragrance protocol for a chauffeur-driven SUV actually contain? Six entries: a cleaning cadence, an airing interval, a fixed placement, a written baseline level, a reduction rule for unknown passengers, and a scheduled check by a nose from outside the car. Five of the six are free. The protocol is written once, kept in the vehicle, and amended only downward. It also has to name what is not published rather than guessing, because the invented numbers are the ones that get obeyed longest: there is no coverage rating, no cabin-size rating and no dose figure for any SOSA car product.

Why does the check have to be scheduled rather than done when needed? Because a check that depends on somebody noticing a problem will never happen, and the person best placed to notice is the one whose perception has adapted. So the protocol fixes a day and a condition: the check is taken by somebody who has not been in that car at all that day, from the rear seat, with the engine running. An unscheduled check is not a safeguard, it is an intention. Nothing in this protocol records what a passenger thinks, because there is no honest measurement of that and SOSA publishes none.

What does the equipment in the protocol cost? SOSA Safar is ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the three hotel-inspired trios, with three published speed settings and a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, refillable at ₹1,049 per 100gm and ₹1,849 per 300gm. It is the only paid line in the protocol, and it earns its place only where the baseline genuinely has to come down between passengers. Otherwise a 12ml hanging bottle at ₹449 to ₹509 does the job for a tenth of the price.
The short answer
Short answer: yes, in six entries: a cleaning cadence, an airing interval, a fixed placement, a written baseline, a reduction rule for unknown passengers, and a scheduled check taken by somebody who has not been in the car - with the unpublished figures named rather than invented
The pick: SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 for the three natural trios or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired, with waterless refills at ₹1,049 per 100gm, as the only paid line in the protocol
Next step: tell us how many vehicles the protocol has to cover, how many journeys a day each one runs and who is available for the weekly check, and we will help you write it down - Ask for a car fragrance recommendation.
Six entries, five of them freeA cleaning cadence, written as days not intentionsAn airing interval: doors open, twenty minutesA fixed placement, recorded to the centimetreA written baseline, amended only downwardA scheduled check by a nose from outside the car
The protocol below is deliberately dull, because a routine that depends on anybody's enthusiasm stops being followed in the third week. The paid line is ₹3,999 and it is the last one.
The three things this page ends up recommending
Straight answer
Can a repeatable fragrance protocol be written for premium chauffeur SUVs covering cleaning, ventilation, passenger position, journey duration and intensity?
Yes, and it fits on one card. Entry one, the cleaning cadence: the interior and the cargo area are cleared at the start of every shift and cleaned properly on a fixed day of the week rather than when somebody notices. Entry two, the airing interval: all four doors and the cargo hatch open for twenty minutes before the first journey, and open again for the length of any gap between journeys. Entry three, the placement: the source sits in one recorded position, away from the seat the passenger uses and away from the vent nearest it, and that position is written down rather than remembered. Entry four, the baseline: one level, chosen from the rear seat after fifteen minutes out of the cabin, with the engine running and the climate control set as the car is driven, and recorded with its date. Entry five, the reduction rule: when the preference of the person getting in is unknown, the level comes down before the door opens and returns to the baseline afterwards, with the car parked both times. Entry six, the check: on a fixed day, a reading is taken from the rear seat by somebody who has not been in that vehicle at all that day, and the baseline may be amended downward on the strength of it but never upward. Then the part that makes the document trustworthy: it names what is not published rather than filling it in. SOSA publishes no coverage rating, no cabin-size rating and no dose figure for any car product; no duration figure for the hanging bottles; no battery-life or charge-cycle figure for the device; no surface-compatibility data; and nothing at all about what a passenger thinks, feels or decides. SOSA also sells nothing for entries one and two, which is why they come first. For entry five you need a level that can actually move: SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired, with three published speeds and a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, refillable from the waterless range at ₹1,049 per 100gm. It is not a set-and-forget device and it needs charging. If entry five never applies in your week, a 12ml hanging bottle at ₹449 to ₹509 is the better line to write in. Tell me how many vehicles this has to cover and who is free for the weekly check, and I will help you write it.
Six entries: cadence, interval, placement, baseline, reduction rule, scheduled check. Five are free, one is a device, and the paragraph that names the unpublished figures is what makes the rest usable.
SOSA Safar, ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired. Three published speeds, a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, cordless Type-C, cup-holder sized, refillable from ₹1,049 per 100gm. This is the only paid line in the protocol, and it is only needed where entry five genuinely applies. Otherwise write in a 12ml hanging bottle from ₹449.

The sentence this whole cluster is built on
A cabin is pleasant to the person getting in because it was emptied and judged by a nose that had been out of it, and a protocol is simply that sentence written down with dates attached

The equipment, and the only paid line in the protocol

Entries one to three and six cost nothing at all. Entry five is the one that needs equipment, and this is what it needs.

SOSA Safar
For entry five: a level that can come down before a door opens
SOSA Safar waterless car perfume diffuser
₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired, supplied as a three-scent set. Three published speed settings and a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, cold diffusion of pure undiluted oil with no water, no heat and no residue, a 20ml bottle of about nine centimetres that fits a cup-holder, cordless on 2000 mAh Type-C. Not a set-and-forget device, and no coverage rating is published for it.
From ₹3,999
SOSA Waterless Nebuliser Refill
Because a written baseline has to be restorable, not re-chosen
SOSA Waterless Nebuliser Refill, pure undiluted oil
₹1,049 per 100gm and ₹1,849 per 300gm for the natural scents, ₹1,099 and ₹1,899 for the hotel-inspired, across sixteen scents. A refill returns the vehicle to the baseline on the card instead of inviting a fresh decision, which is the mechanism that keeps a protocol from drifting upward. Thick, sticky or water-based blends can clog the unit, so it runs on SOSA oils or a good pure essential oil.
From ₹1,049
SOSA Safar
The specification, with nothing added to it
SOSA Safar
SOSA Safar, a waterless, cordless, rechargeable car and travel perfume diffuser supplied as a three-scent set, ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the three hotel-inspired trios. SOSA publishes three speed settings, a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, up to ten hours continuous or about thirty hours intermittent running per charge from a 2000 mAh Type-C battery, a 20ml bottle, a body of about nine centimetres that fits a cup-holder, and cold diffusion of pure undiluted oil with no water, no heat and no residue. SOSA's page describes it as aroma only and states that it does not humidify, which is not a claim that it dries a cabin. It is refillable from the waterless nebuliser refill range at ₹1,049 per 100gm and ₹1,849 per 300gm for natural scents and ₹1,099 and ₹1,899 for hotel-inspired, across sixteen scents; thick, sticky or water-based blends can clog it. It is not a set-and-forget device, and SOSA publishes no coverage or cabin-size rating, no battery-life figure and no charge-cycle figure for it. Fragrance oil is flammable, so it stays out of direct sun on a dashboard, and anything you fill or adjust, you do with the car parked.

The six entries, written out

Grouped into three cards: the two free entries about the cabin, the two about where and how much, and the two that keep the document honest over time.

1
Entries one and two: a cadence and an interval
Both of these are dates rather than intentions, which is the only form they survive in
Entry one is the cleaning cadence. The interior and the cargo area are cleared at the start of every shift, and cleaned properly on a named day each week, because cleaning that happens when somebody notices a problem happens later than it should. Entry two is the airing interval: all four doors and the cargo hatch open for twenty minutes before the first journey, and open again for the length of any gap between journeys. Both entries are written as days and minutes, not as good habits. SOSA sells no cleaner, no upholstery shampoo, no deodoriser, no purifier and no detailing service, so neither entry is a purchase, and that is exactly why they can sit at the top of the document.
Tip: Write the cargo floor into entry one explicitly. In an SUV the load area shares the cabin's air rather than being sealed off from it, so the well under the boot board is part of the cabin.
SOSA Safar
Nothing to buy for these two entries. Safar at ₹3,999 belongs to entry five.
See SOSA Safar →
2
Entries three and four: a placement and a baseline
A level without a recorded position beside it is not a specification, it is a story about one
Entry three fixes where the source sits: one position, away from the seat the passenger uses and away from the vent nearest it, recorded precisely enough that it can be put back after a valet. The same unit at a different distance from the rear seat is a different level, so position and level are one entry in two lines. Entry four is the baseline itself, chosen from the rear seat after fifteen minutes out of the cabin, with the engine running and the climate control set as the car is actually driven, then written down with its date and the conditions it was taken under. Three published speeds make that a number rather than a feeling, which is the whole reason a device suits a document.
Tip: Record the climate setting the reading was taken with. A baseline measured with the rear zone off and used with the rear zone on is a baseline for a different car.
SOSA Safar
Three published speeds make entry four a number. Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.
See SOSA Safar →
3
Entries five and six: a reduction rule and a scheduled check
One direction of travel, and one reading that does not come from inside the car
Entry five: when the preference of the person getting in is unknown, the level comes down before the door opens and goes back to the baseline afterwards, both with the car parked. The direction is not negotiable, because a reduction is reversible and an addition in a sealed cabin is not. Entry six: on a fixed day, a reading is taken from the rear seat by somebody who has not been in that vehicle at all that day, with the engine running and the vents as driven. The baseline may be amended downward on the strength of that reading and never upward. A check with no day attached is an intention, and intentions are the first thing a busy week removes.
SOSA Waterless Nebuliser Refill
A waterless refill at ₹1,049 per 100gm restores the baseline. That is the restock, not a higher speed.
See SOSA Waterless Nebuliser Refill →
The SOSA principle
The most valuable paragraph in a fragrance protocol is the one listing the figures nobody publishes, because an invented number written into a routine is a number somebody will obey for a year without ever questioning it.
So this document says there is no coverage rating, no cabin-size rating and no dose figure, and then carries on being useful anyway.
SOSA Safar
The only paid line, at two prices: SOSA Safar is ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the three hotel-inspired trios, with three published speed settings and a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer.

The protocol as a one-page document

Copy this into whatever you keep in the vehicle. It is written to be followed by somebody who has never read the rest of this page.

The SOSA shortlist
The entry, and what it says
The entry What to do
1. Cleaning cadence
Interior and cargo area cleared at the start of every shift. A proper clean on a named day each week, including the well under the cargo floor. SOSA sells no cleaner, no deodoriser, no purifier and no detailing service, so this entry is never a purchase.
2. Airing interval
All four doors and the cargo hatch open for twenty minutes before the first journey, and open again for the length of any gap between journeys. Not the windows cracked.
3. Placement
One recorded position, away from the seat the passenger uses and away from the vent nearest it. Written down precisely enough to restore after a valet.
SOSA Safar4. Baseline level
One setting, taken from the rear seat after fifteen minutes out of the cabin, engine running, climate control as driven. Recorded with the date and the conditions. Three published speeds at ₹3,999 make it a number.
5. Reduction rule
Preference unknown: level down before the door opens, back to baseline afterwards, both with the car parked. Downward amendments only.
SOSA Waterless Nebuliser Refill6. The check, and the restock
A fixed day each week, read from the rear seat by somebody who has not been in that vehicle that day. Baseline amended downward only. Waterless refills at ₹1,049 per 100gm restore it when the bottle is low.

Two neighbouring pages supply the parts of this document that deserve their own argument. If entry six is the one you expect to be hardest to keep, the page on evaluating intensity after eight hours in the same cabin explains why the reading has to come from outside the car and gives three free ways to get one. And if entry four is the entry you are least sure how to take, the page on testing rear-seat perception writes the measurement out with all six of its conditions. SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and every product named here is its own composition.

SOSA Safar
The restock that keeps a baseline from drifting: Waterless refills are ₹1,049 per 100gm and ₹1,849 per 300gm for natural scents, ₹1,099 and ₹1,899 for hotel-inspired, across sixteen scents. Thick, sticky or water-based blends can clog the unit, so it runs on SOSA oils or good pure essential oil.
One device, two prices, one line in the document
SOSA Safar is ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired - the only entry in this protocol with a price on it.
See the SOSA Safar Ask for a car fragrance recommendation
If I wrote a coverage figure into this document somebody would be following it in eighteen months, which is exactly why there is a blank where the figure would go.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
Why a device sits in entry five and nowhere else
Five of the six entries are free, and the one that costs money exists only because a baseline sometimes has to come down before a door opens

The SOSA car fragrance specification

Here is the range as the protocol uses it, with every gap named rather than filled. SOSA publishes no coverage rating, no cabin-size rating and no dose figure for any car product, no duration figure for the hanging bottles, no battery-life or charge-cycle figure for the device, no surface-compatibility data, nothing about use around animals, and nothing whatsoever about what a passenger concludes about a cabin. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Entries one and two, free Every vehicle on the protocol, every shift Interior and cargo area cleared at the start of each shift and cleaned on a named day weekly, then all four doors and the cargo hatch open for twenty minutes before the first journey and again in every gap. SOSA sells no cleaner, no deodoriser, no purifier and no detailing service, so these two entries are never a purchase and they do more than the rest of the document Not a SOSA purchase

Four standing limits apply to every line above, and the protocol records them in writing rather than working around them. No claim is made here about what any passenger, client, boss or guest thinks, feels or decides about a car - there is no honest measurement of it and SOSA publishes none. No coverage rating, cabin-size rating or dose figure is published for any SOSA car product, so nothing in this range is rated for an SUV or a seven-seater, and no surface-compatibility data exists for applying fragrance to any interior material. No duration figure exists for the hanging bottles and no battery-life or charge-cycle figure is published for the device; the only published dose and duration figures in the car range are Mysore Orange Blossom's own, which are not extended to anything else. Safar's published timer runs one, two or three hours and the unit needs charging, so it is a controllable device rather than a set-and-forget one, and its page describes it as aroma only. Ask for a car fragrance recommendation before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal

People ask me for this document more often than they ask me for a scent, and for a long time I did not write it down, because the honest version has holes in it and I was not sure a document with holes was worth having. I have changed my mind completely. A routine with six entries and two openly marked blanks is far more useful than a tidy one-page sheet with invented numbers in those blanks, and I will tell you why: the invented number is the one that survives. Nobody argues with a figure printed in a protocol. They follow it for a year.

So here is what the document can and cannot contain. It can contain a cadence, an interval, a placement, a baseline, a rule about direction and a scheduled check, because all six of those are things you can do and verify. It cannot contain a coverage figure, a cabin-size rating or a dose, because SOSA does not publish any of them for any car product and I will not write one in to make the sheet look complete. The one place we do publish counts is Mysore Orange Blossom's own spray figures, and those belong to that product alone. What fills the gap where a figure would go is the check in entry six, taken by somebody who has not been in the vehicle. A measurement beats a rating, and it happens to be free.

For entry five, which is the only line with a price on it: SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the three hotel-inspired trios, with three published speed settings, a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, cold diffusion of pure undiluted oil, and waterless refills at ₹1,049 per 100gm so the baseline on the card is the baseline you get back. It is not a set-and-forget device and it needs charging. If the level never has to come down between passengers, write a 12ml hanging bottle from ₹449 into entry four instead and keep the rest of the money. Free shipping above ₹499, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Can a repeatable fragrance protocol be written for premium chauffeur SUVs, and what does it contain?
Yes, in six entries. A cleaning cadence, with the interior and cargo area cleared every shift and cleaned on a named day weekly. An airing interval of twenty minutes with all four doors and the hatch open. A recorded placement away from the passenger's seat. A written baseline taken from the rear seat. A reduction rule for unknown preference, downward only. And a scheduled check by somebody who has not been in the vehicle that day. Five of the six cost nothing.
What should the protocol say about figures SOSA does not publish?
It should name them. There is no coverage rating, no cabin-size rating and no dose figure for any SOSA car product, no duration figure for the hanging bottles, no battery-life or charge-cycle figure for the device, and no surface-compatibility data for applying fragrance to interior materials. Writing a plausible number into one of those blanks is worse than leaving it empty, because a figure inside a protocol gets followed for years without anybody questioning where it came from.
Who should take the weekly check, and why does the day matter?
Whoever takes it must not have been in that vehicle at all that day, because perception of a constant smell falls away fast and a reading from inside the car is a reading of a faded version. The day matters because a check with no day attached never happens: it waits for somebody to notice a problem, and the person best placed to notice is the one who has adapted. Fix the day, take the reading from the rear seat with the engine running, and amend the baseline downward only.
Why is the reduction rule one-directional?
Because a reduction can be undone and an addition cannot. Lowering the level before a door opens takes seconds and can be reversed afterwards, while fragrance already released into a sealed cabin stays there for the journey. On top of that, the only person positioned to raise the level mid-shift is the one whose reading has been drifting downward since morning, so an increase is almost always a correction for a nose rather than for a car.
Does the protocol need a device, or will a bottle serve?
A bottle serves for four of the six entries and most cars should use one: a 12ml hanging unit at Rs 449 to Rs 509 in its mild scent-throw variant, refilled at Rs 399 to Rs 449. The device earns its place only where the baseline genuinely has to come down before somebody gets in and go back afterwards, which is entry five. SOSA Safar is Rs 3,999 for the three natural trios, with three published speeds and a one, two or three-hour timer, and it needs charging.
SOSA Safar
And the gaps the protocol names rather than fills: SOSA publishes no coverage rating, no cabin-size rating, no dose figure, no duration figure for the hanging bottles, no battery-life or charge-cycle figure for the device, and no surface-compatibility data. The only published dose and duration figures belong to Mysore Orange Blossom.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. The products named are SOSA's own; the method - choose the format for how the vehicle is actually used, set the level for the longest journey rather than the first minute, and judge it from the passenger's seat rather than the driver's - applies whatever brand you buy.

Facts verified 1 October 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: every SOSA 12ml car perfume is sold in two variants at the same price, described by SOSA as Spray (strong scent-throw) and Hanging (mild scent-throw): Jasmine ₹449, Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, Vetiver, Sea Breeze and Oud ₹509, with a 50ml car perfume spray at ₹1,499 and 15ml refills for the hanging bottles at ₹399 to ₹449. Two-scent combos are ₹899 to ₹949. Mysore Orange Blossom is the only SOSA car fragrance with published dose and duration figures - 10ml described as 100 sprays lasting about three months (₹549) and 50ml as 500 sprays lasting about a year or more (₹1,499) - and those figures are not extended to any other scent, size or format. SOSA Safar is a waterless, cordless, rechargeable car and travel perfume diffuser supplied as a three-scent set, in six variants at ₹3,999 for the three natural trios and ₹4,499 for the three hotel-inspired trios. SOSA publishes three speed settings, a one, two or three-hour auto-off timer, up to ten hours continuous or about thirty hours intermittent running per charge from a 2000 mAh Type-C battery, a 20ml bottle, a body of about nine centimetres that fits a cup-holder, and cold diffusion of pure undiluted oil with no water, no heat and no residue; SOSA's own page describes it as aroma only and states that it does not humidify, which is not a claim that it dries a cabin or corrects damp. It is refillable from the waterless nebuliser refill range at ₹1,049 per 100gm and ₹1,849 per 300gm for natural scents and ₹1,099 and ₹1,899 for hotel-inspired, across sixteen scents. No coverage or cabin-size rating is published for any SOSA car product, and no longevity figure is published for the hanging bottles or for Safar, so none is given here. SOSA sells no cleaner, no upholstery or carpet shampoo, no deodoriser or odour eliminator, no enzyme or ozone treatment, no air purifier, ioniser or dehumidifier, no cabin-filter or air-conditioning cleaning product, no seat cover or floor mat, and no detailing service. Fragrance is never used to mask, remove, neutralise or absorb an odour: a persistent cabin smell is a cleaning, drying, ventilation or servicing problem, and fragrance is the last and smallest step once the cabin is genuinely clean. Nothing here is medical advice and no health, air-quality, therapeutic or wellbeing claim is made for any fragrance - a worry about damp, smoke residue or air quality in a vehicle is a question for a doctor or a qualified inspection, not for a perfumer. SOSA publishes no information about the use of its car fragrances around animals and none is implied either way; ask SOSA for product information and ask a vet about a particular animal. SOSA publishes no surface-compatibility information for applying car fragrance to fabric, leather, leatherette, plastic or a dashboard, so these pages follow each product's own directions and advise nothing beyond them. Fragrance oil is flammable: keep it out of direct sun on a dashboard and away from heat, and apply it with the car parked. Free shipping above ₹499 is the only logistics fact stated on these pages, and nothing is claimed about delivery timing. No claim is made about what any passenger, client or buyer thinks of a car. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
