Why: a clean, lifted scent for the room the front door opens into; a warm, quiet one for the room you sleep in.
Cost: nothing extra — both are among the six 15ml Hotel Collection scents included with two Sukoons at ₹3,798.
2. St. Regis-inspired in the bedroom. Amber, violet and woods — the richest thing in the Hotel Collection, and a small enclosed room at night is the one place in a flat where a rich fragrance is comfortable rather than tiring.
3. Choose for the distance between them, not the description of each. The commonest mistake is picking two scents you liked the sound of and discovering they are the same idea twice — at which point you have two machines and one flat-smelling flat.
4. It costs nothing extra. Two Sukoons at ₹3,798 arrive with six 15ml bottles of your choice, so this pairing is a checkout decision rather than a purchase. The other four bottles become your seasonal rotation.
5. Three alternatives are genuinely good. 1 Hotels-inspired with Westin-inspired if you dislike anything obviously hotel-like; W Hotels-inspired with Shangri-La-inspired if you want brightness; Four Seasons-inspired with St. Regis-inspired if you want the whole flat warm.

Why this pair, specifically
A two-scent decision is not two one-scent decisions. What matters is the relationship — whether the flat changes when you walk through the door, and whether each scent suits the room it is standing in. The pairing below is built from one clean daytime fragrance and one warm evening one, which is the oldest structure in hotel scenting and still the one that works hardest in a small Indian flat.
Four pairings, compared
The hero pairing suits most households, but temperament matters more here than in any other part of this decision — some people want a flat that announces itself and some want one that never does. Find the row that sounds like you. All four use scents included free with two Sukoons, so none of them costs more than another.
| Pairing | Living / dining | Bedroom | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| The hotel pair ★ | Ritz-Carlton-inspired — white tea · bergamot · cedar | St. Regis-inspired — amber · violet · woods | Most 1BHKs. Clean arrival, warm wind-down |
| The understated pair | 1 Hotels-inspired — cedarwood · vetiver · green leaves | Westin-inspired — white tea · aloe · cedar | People who dislike anything obviously scented; both read as a home rather than a hotel |
| The bright pair | W Hotels-inspired — citrus · pepper · amber | Shangri-La-inspired — jasmine · green tea · white tea | Lively flats, morning people, and anyone who finds white tea too quiet |
| The warm pair | Four Seasons-inspired — citrus · floral · sandalwood | St. Regis-inspired — amber · violet · woods | Winter, north-facing flats, and homes that want depth in both rooms |
| Avoid: two white teas | Ritz-Carlton-inspired | Westin-inspired | Nobody — excellent scents, built on the same spine, and the door stops meaning anything |
| Avoid: one scent, both rooms | Any single bottle | The same bottle | Only if you actively want the flat to feel like one room again |

How to run two scents without them fighting
The worry people raise is that two fragrances in a 500 sq ft flat will collide somewhere in the middle, and it is a fair worry that turns out not to happen for a specific reason: the two machines are almost never at full output at the same time. The living room unit does its work through the evening while you are cooking and sitting; the bedroom unit does its work on low for a couple of hours before you sleep, by which point you have usually switched the living room one off or let its timer run out. The overlap is a doorway and perhaps twenty minutes. In practice you notice the change as you walk through, which is the effect you wanted, rather than a muddle, which is the one you feared.
If your bedroom door genuinely stays open all day and you do want to be careful, three adjustments cover it. Run the bedroom machine on low rather than steady high — a 110–140 sq ft room does not need more, and the 2H timer will stop it before it builds. Place the living room unit toward the middle of its own room rather than right at the bedroom doorway, which is the one placement rule that changes when you own two machines instead of one. And avoid pairing two heavy fragrances: the warm pair in the table above is the only one I would run in a flat with permanently open doors, and only in winter.
The other half of running two scents is knowing when to stop rotating. Six 15ml bottles arrive with two Sukoons, and the temptation for the first month is to try all of them in both rooms, which is genuinely the right thing to do — that month is how you find out that your favourite on paper is not your favourite in the flat. After that, settle. A home with a signature is a home where the same two scents run in the same two rooms for months at a time, and the cheapest way to hold that is a 300ml 300ml refill at ₹1,799 of whichever one you use daily — about ₹6 per ml against roughly ₹20 per ml in 15ml bottles. Keep the remaining bottles for seasonal swaps and guests, not for constant switching.
The SOSA 1BHK edit
The pairing as a shopping list. Note that the first line already contains both fragrances — the rest is about running them well and having somewhere to go when the seasons change.
| Buy | Which scent, and where | When it earns its place | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Two Sukoons ★ | Ritz-Carlton-inspired living room, St. Regis-inspired bedroom — both among the six included | Day one. The pairing is a checkout decision, not a purchase | ₹3,798 |
| 2. 300ml refill | Whichever of the two you run daily — usually the living room one | After a month of running the six included bottles | ₹1,799 |
| 3. Hotel Collection 15ml | A seasonal third — Four Seasons-inspired for winter | When one room starts feeling like the other | ₹299 |
| 4. Pack of 7 × 15ml | The remaining scents, for rotation rather than coverage | If you enjoy switching more than settling | ₹1,799 |
| 5. Boond 300ml | A third scent for the bathroom, on the same bottles | Once both main rooms have found their fragrance | ₹899 |
| Not this: one scent everywhere | The same bottle in both tanks | Only if you want the flat to read as a single room | — |
Versailles
The question I am asked most about pairings is whether the two scents need to "go together", and the answer is no — they need to be separated by a door, which they are. A perfumer thinks about harmony when two materials share the same air. Your living room and your bedroom do not share air for most of the day, so what you are composing is a sequence rather than a blend.
Which is why my advice is nearly the opposite of what people expect. Take two fragrances that would be a poor idea mixed in one bottle, and put a wall between them. The clean white tea of the Ritz-Carlton-inspired and the amber of the St. Regis-inspired would be a muddle in a single tank. In two rooms they are a hotel — lobby, then suite — and that transition is the part guests remember and never quite identify.
