I will not give you a tidy reassurance, because animals deserve more care than that. Pets can be sensitive to scent - cats especially - and their bodies process some substances very differently from ours. The responsible answer is to ask your vet, who knows your animal. There is one point worth clearing up, because it causes real worry: you may have read that essential oils are dangerous for pets, and it is true that some raw, undiluted essential oils can be toxic to animals, particularly to cats. Raw essential oils vs a finished perfume
This distinction matters because the fear is real and often misplaced onto the wrong product. When people read that fragrance harms pets, they are usually reading about raw, undiluted essential oils - applied to fur, diffused heavily, or even ingested. That is a different category from a finished perfume.
The difference, plainly
Raw essential oil: concentrated, undiluted plant extract - some of which can be toxic to pets, cats in particular, especially in high doses or direct contact. IFRA-compliant perfume: a finished composition formulated and dosed to a fragrance-industry safety standard. SOSA is the latter. This is context to reduce needless panic - not a claim that any perfume is safe for your specific animal. That remains your vet’s call.
